Pipe Organ Encounter

The American Guild of Organists Duquesne University Chapter is sponsoring a Pipe Organ Encounter during the summer of 2004. This week long event allows young people ages 13-18 to experience dedicated time with top organists on a variety of instruments throughout the Pittsburgh area. The program tuition includes room, board and local transport.

The Staff, Students and Faculty of the POE are pleased to announce that the opening concert for the event will be performed by Peter R.Conte. Mr. Conte is highly and widely regarded for his skill as a performer, arranger of organ transcriptions, and for his unique and varied programs. He has been featured several times on National Public Radio and on ABC national television's "Good Morning America" and performs many times each week on the legendary Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia of which he is the fourth Grand Court Organist. He was a featured artist at the 2002 national convention of the American Guild of Organists. The concert is free and open to the public. The concert is Monday 28-Jun-2004 7:30PM, Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 5121 Westminster Place (Corner of Amberson & Westminster). Pittsburgh , PA 15232.
