Recent Events - 2-Feb-2007 - Organ Artists Series Concert in cooperation with Music In a Great Space featuring Carly Curley, concert artist, and J. Christopher Pardini, Music Director and Organist at Shadyside Presbyterian Church.
Carlo Curley (left) arrived early in the week to practice with J. Christopher Pardini (right). The staff from Gerrero Music were kind enough to provide a touring Allen electronic instrument (left) and quickly voice. This enabled the audience to have a unique musical treat of dueling organs and organists.
The setup of the electronic instrument and practice paid off! They put on quite a show!

But there was time for a break every now and then. The 3 manual Allen Heritage series (left) had its speakers hidden in the pews where the choir normally would be. The Reuter (right) has its pipes installed in chambers adjacent to the Chancel as well as in the rear gallery.
After a few intense days of practice, Carlo (left) and Chris(right) were ready to put on a show on Friday night!
A few last minute checks with the page turner....
Jeff Kirk (left) from Gerrero and Don Fellows (OAS) were happy
to see this event come together so well.
Carlo's manager, Keith Pendergraft ,got some of Carlo's
CD's ready in the Narthex.
Carlo was more than happy to sign CDs before the concert for those who came early.
Peter Bodnar (left) from MIGS and Stan Yoder (right) got ready to take tickets.
In spite of a February ice storm, almost 300 people came to hear the performance!
Chris Parini welcomed everyone, and then he instroduced Carlo Curley....
Carlo took a bow and the concert began!
Folks were even in the balcony to get a birds eye view of the performance!
At intermission, a lot of excitement about the performers.
Andrew Druckenbroad (standing, center), from the Post Gazette, also enjoyed the performance!
He enjoyed discussing the finer points of it with some other afficionados.
While in the Narthex, CD sales were going strong, an indication that folks liked the show!
After intermission, the dueling performers resumed with gusto.
Over in the church hall, the kitchen staff pretty busy.
They set up a spectacular table.
And didn't forget the warm drinks for the cold night!
Meanwhile, in the church, the concert was conclusing with a standing ovation!
Even the folks in the gallery were on the edge of their seats!
There was a rush to the reception, time to meet and greet this wonderful artist!
Finally it was down to the last few folks, time to call it a night!
Special thanks to the kitchen crew, who were there to the very last, still smiling!
