Recent Events -25-Apr-2010 - Organ Artists Series Concert featuring Nigel Potts, international concert organist in cooperation with Music in a Great Space at Shadyside Presbyterian Church. (Clive Driskill-Smith was originally scheduled, but a volcano explosion interrupted his flight plans!)
Nigel zipped into town at a moment's notice to rescue the concert. Clive Driskill-Smith has his flights cancelled due to a volcano explosion; so Nigel graciously volunteered to substitute.
Mid-way through practice, the organ wasn't cooperating. A transformer stopped working and so did the instrument. Dave Richards, from Allegheny Pipe Organ Company, quickly came to the rescue to fix the problem.....
An emergency trip to the electrical store and some tools fixed the issue. The concert was, again, saved!
Stephen Baum (left below) from radio station WQED arrived to interview Nigel. |
